Débora Gonçalves
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1997, her formative years unfolded in the city's outskirts before a move to the countryside of São Paulo at the age of 8, where she resided until turning 20. Her artistic journey began in childhood, kindled by courses in plastic arts and continuously nurtured throughout her life. This creative flair remained a steadfast presence, even as she navigated the realm of technology during her teenage years, which eventually shaped her primary career path.
Her relocation to Portugal in 2019 marked a resurgence of her artistic pursuits. The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the ensuing lockdowns offered her a unique opportunity to delve deeper into her passion for painting. She experimented with various mediums, including Watercolor and Acrylic, but it was the allure of Oil painting that truly captivated her. The slow drying process, the complex layering techniques, and the richness of tones inherent in oil painting captivated her imagination. Her artworks are deeply influenced by her admiration for the Baroque and Renaissance periods, with a particular affinity for Italian artists.
By 2022, she began devoting more time to her art, cultivating new collections and participating in both virtual and physical exhibitions across several cities, including Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Agadir. Her artistic trajectory is a testament to a harmonious blend of artistic exploration and technological acumen, showcasing a distinctive amalgamation of historical influences and contemporary innovation in her works.
