Cristiana Giacchetti
A tireless explorer of the invisible human soul, Cristiana approaches art to free herself from the habit of words and reconnect with the poiesis of the human psyche, or the image. An incessant dialogue of love, actively started in 2021 and never interrupted. A love with origins in more ancient reality, rooted in a family of artists. Inspired by her great-grandfather, Aristodemo Giacchetti, a fresco artist from central Italy, and her father-in-law, Gualtiero Mocenni, an Italian-Istrian artist, she rediscovers herself as an artist in the Soul and since 2023, thanks to Italian and international exhibitions and publications, she has begun to make visible an intimate and intense artistic production. In 2024, with the work “Renaissance”, she won the first “Gm Mostre” prize during the group show at Spazio 57 in Naples and was selected by the Sino Italian Design Center as an Italian artist for the Chinese market with the personal online exhibition “Alchimie dell’Anima”. He also integrates his artistic path with writing, publishing in November 2024 his first novel "Tre giri di Biska, un'alcolica filosofia d'amore", published in Italy by Pab Editore, of which he curated the cover by creating a painting. The three words that define his artistic poetics are lyricism, primordiality, pareidolicity or the optical illusion of the subconscious. Many of his paintings are born from the ancestral nature of the gesture that follows the poetic, almost casual, movements of the Soul. But in the end, behind the appearance of that casual shape, one can perceive, through an optical illusion, another shape that the observer re-creates with what the philosopher Plotinus called a spiritual gaze. Therefore, his works, which acquire almost sculptural characteristics, thanks to thick applications of paint that emerge from the canvas, are reflections of his Soul, the essence without masks or filters. And at the same time, in a game of mirrors, they reflect what the observer's Psyche wants to reveal about Himself.
