Cristiana Giacchetti
A tireless explorer of the invisible human soul, I come to art to free myself from the habit of words and reconnect to the poiesis of the human psyche, or the image. An incessant dialogue of love, actively started in 2021 inspired by my great-grandfather, the fresco artist Aristodemo Giacchetti, and by the passionate example of my father-in-law, the artist Gualtiero Mocenni. Since 2023, thanks to Italian and international exhibitions and publications, I have begun to make an intimate and intense artistic production visible. The focus of attention in all my artistic experiments is what the ancients called Soul, in the psychology of the profound Psyche. The three words that define my artistic poetics are lyricism, primordiality, pareidolicity or the optical illusion of the subconscious. Many of my paintings arise from the ancestral nature of the gesture that follows the poetic, almost casual, movements of the Soul. But in the end, behind the appearance of that random form one can perceive, almost by an optical illusion, another form that the observer re-creates with what the philosopher Plotinus called a spiritual gaze, the eye that goes beyond the appearance and sees the essence.
