Alchemy is the science of sapience that teaches the transmutation of the Self. Its time is a nontime and in fact the development is not linear like earthly time, but it is a circular time because the psyche is infinite like a circle. In its circular movement, the psyche has a spiral progression so that starting from a center our consciousness widens, expands, crossing different chromatic gradations. The black of nonself-awareness, the silvery lunar vision, the green of the rooting of our psychic identity, the gold of the allseeing solar consciousness. And the blue that holds together the different alchemical gradations is the blue of Wisdom that can imagine what we are not yet. Alchemy teaches that Being manifests itself in the becoming of our appearance.
